Admin Council holds Planning Workshop

The Aurora State College of Technology recently held its Institutional Planning workshop at Punta Sierra Verde Hotel, Dinalungan Aurora last January 31 to February 1, 2013.

The two-day workshop aims to develop skills of the participants in budget preparation for the year 2013 and resolve the problem regarding the faculty work load and teaching overload. It was attended by different Directors of the college from both Administrative and Academic Council.

Among the presenters were the College President Dr.  Eusebio V. Angara Ph, VP for Academic  Affairs Prof. Eriberto C. Rivera, who both presented and discussed the new Mission and Vision of the College. The new Mission and Vision was approved by the Administrative Council and will be presented to the 70th Board Meeting.

President Angara and VPAA Rivera also presented the new Organizational chart with the directors to clarify the new designations, as a requirement for Accreditation.

VPAA Rivera also presented the Faculty workload and teaching overload and facilitated the workshop under the same topic. Each participant was keen in conveying their thoughts on the subject.

Proposals were raised during the rigorous discussion. Some of the suggestions were to minimize the contracts of service (COS) or to maximize the teaching loads of full-time faculties. The participants, however, agreed on allowing the College Registrar to arrange the schedules and number of students to reduce the number of teaching overload.

Director of Finance, Mrs. Melita M. Amatorio, presented the Financial Report for Year 2012 and facilitated the workshop for the 2013 Budget Preparation. Among the Directors who presented their 2013 Budget were Dir. Eduardo F. Macose for Extension, Dir. Eutiquio Rotaquio for the Research and Development, and Engr. Loreto H. Barrogo for Instructions.

The workshop ended with a tour in the ASCOT Casiguran Campus before heading back to Baler.
