In order to promote good governance in adherence to the principles of transparency, accountability, equity, and efficiency and to maintain an effective and efficient procurement management according to the provisions of the Government Procurement Reform Act (Republic Act No. 9184), ASCOT recently established the Procurement Management Office that shall, together with the College Bids and Awards Committee, take lead in the management and implementation of the College Procurement Management System.

The new Procurement Office is composed of the three newly hired Certified Public Accountants, Ms. Anna May Lombres, Administrative Officer V, Ms. Catherine Valdez, Administrative Officer III, and Ms. Jissle Lapig, Administrative Officer I. Moreover, Mr. Reynante Rabang, Administrative Assistant II and Ms. Anabella Barrogo, Administrative Aide VI were also transferred to the new unit to support the operation of the new office.

The Office of Procurement is expected to provide efficient and effective procurement services that are adhered to all applicable policies and performed within law, rule, and procedure. It will also serve as the Secretariat and main support of the BAC and, thus, shall discharge all the functions and responsibilities provided for it under RA 9184 and its revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).
