			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Four new Agriculturists will be added to the roster of 2011 Successful Licensure Examinees as BS Agriculture graduates Joseph T. Farro and Jade Harley N. Trucilla, and Ronald A. Pacleb and Bienvenido M. Ritual, both Bachelor in Agricultural Technology graduates pass the recently conducted Licensure Exam for Agriculturists last July 19-21, 2011.</p>
<p>ASCOT got 40% passing rate from its examinees against the 36.6% National Passing Rate placing the college to rank 5.5 among the top performing schools in the country.</p>
<p>The new Agriculturists are testaments of the Department of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences pride, honor and excellence in education. The result of the Licensure exam proves that the college provides quality education and addresses the society&#8217;s increasing demand for highly competent graduates.</p>

<p>This year ASCOT ranked 4.5 nationwide in the category of 10-20 examinees tying up with Southern Luzon State University-Lucban. The National Passing rate for this category is 43.58%.</p>

Angara to travel to Beijing, China for a 10-day period starting August 4 to 14, 2011 to participate in the “Global Environmental Leaders (GELs) Summer Course 2011 Development within a Low Carbon World: Policy and Planning Instruments for Green Innovation.”</p>
<p>The travel was thru the courtesy of Hiroshima International Center for Environmental Cooperation of Hiroshima University which shouldered all the expenses of the travel.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Aurora State College of Technology hosted the recently conducted PC Recycling Seminar for Public High School teachers in the province, a  component of the iSchools Project &#8211; a government funded initiative that seeks to bring computerization and ICT training into public high schools , under the Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT).</p>
<p>The selected project recipients were Aurora National High School, Canili Area National High School,Casiguran National High School, Dipaculao National High School, Maria Aurora National High School and Aurora State College of Technology .</p>
<p>The PC Recycling Training program aim  to train enough members of the teaching staff from each participating high school to maintain,sustain and prolong the use of their computer laboratories.</p>
<p>The delegates under the tutelage of Resource Persons- Theody B. Sayco, Joey G. Fernando and Khavee Botongen from the Central Luzon State University received training in basic and intermediate computer concepts,  including actual hands-on and laboratory activities, with focus on computer diagnostics and repair.</p>
<p>This 6-days training-workshop held last July 15-17 and July 29-31 hoped to realize maximization of the use of existing ICT equipment and minimize electronic waste.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Eusebio V. Angara, College President with Hon. Kim Jin-oh,KOICA Country Representative graced the inauguration of the ASCOT-KOICA Food Processing Center on June 30, 2011. The center was made possible trough the initiative of  Dr. Eusebio V. Angara in partneship with KOICA and from the munificent support of Mr. Seung Hyun Lee(KOV).</p>
<p>The Food Processing Center will serve as an IGP of the college which will  help in improving food processing efficiency, developing food security in the province.</p>
<p>A Korean Culture Festival was also held were KOICA volunteers delighted the members of the ASCOT Faculty and Staff with their prominent Korean recipe, the Ttok Pokki, a Korean rice cake in chili sauce.</p>
<p>The new facility is a manifestation of good relations between the Korean Government and the Province of Aurora as implemented by KOICA and ASCOT upholding an objective of promoting quality education for ASCOT students.</p>

<p>ASCOT Student Organizations led by the Supreme College Student Council in cooperation with the ASCOT Faculty and Staff celebrated their annual Acquaintance Party held at Sentro Baler Aurora last Friday, July 1, 2011.</p>
<p>The program started with an opening remarks from Dr. Silvestre C. Escueta, the new Vice President for Academic Affairs, followed by the formal introduction of the faculty members facilitated by the Academic Directors.</p>
<p>The first part was the Oath taking of Batch 2011 student officers officiated by Dr. Amelia A. Picart, OSS Director.Presentations from different groups,followed after the induction. Freshman students delighted everyone with their song and dance numbers.</p>
<p>The search for Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2011 took place in the middle of the fun. Mr. Reyniel Jay P. Bartolome(BSA) and Ms. Rodamin P. Natividad(BSCE) were hailed as Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2011<br />
Other winners were Mr. Mark Anthony D. Larilla(BSTRM)	&#038;  Ms. Venise L. Ulalan(BSED) &#8211; First Runner Up<br />
and Mr. Julius Willie P. Bernardo(BSED) &#038; Ms. Marielle H. Sindac(BSTRM) &#8211; Second Runner Up.</p>
<p>The event also provides an avenue and opportunity for the new members of the ASCOT family to get acquainted with their schoolmates and make new friends. A sort of imbibing the unique culture and camaraderie that is distinctive in Aurora State College of Technology. </p>

Dr. Virgilio M. Panapanaan of Lappeenrantha University of Technology, Finland delivered the keynote speech, which was also the theme<br />
of the event: &#8220;Sustainability Education and Change: Where Do We Go?&#8221;. He stressed out that the principles of daily living which are ethics, integrity, responsibility, respect to laws and rules and of rights of others should be manifested in an educational institution like ASCOT, in order to fully implement its goals, realize its missions and visions, and of devotionally serving its purpose.</p>
<p>Four members of faculty, Dr. Eriberto C. Rivera, Prof. Lolita H. Dela Cruz, Dr. Oscar T. Vallejo and Prof. Jocelyn H. Diaz, also shared valuable knowledge as they discussed the topic, The Art of Questioning, The Role of a Modern Teacher, Research and Extension in Education and Teaching Strategies and Innovation, respectively.</p>
<p>Dr. Eusebio V. Angara, ASCOT President, delivered the subject matter, Test Construction, and Mrs. Maria Lucia A. Ramos, Human Resource Development Officer discussed on the Rules and Policies for ASCOT Faculty.</p>
<p>These enriching topics, along with the strengthening effects of being associated with colleagues aims to liven up ASCOT instructors into doing their part as educators.</p>

<p>The Aurora State College of Technology headed by the College President Dr. Eusebio V. Angara and the rest of the school officials, faculty and staff members welcomed the new students for SY 2011-2012 during an Orientation Program held at ASCOT Gymnasium last June 14, 2011.</p>
<p>It aims to familiarize the newest ASCOTIANs with the school officials and their respective faculty and staff. They were also made aware of the existing college rules, regulations and policies and the corresponding consequences for their violations.</p>
<p>Academic Directors introduced the faculty members of their Department to the new students. Moreover a short presentation of the course requirements and retention policies were also given.</p>
<p>Orientations for Student Services were also made. Various school facilities and programs were discussed for the students to acquaint themselves with including the services offered.</p>
<p>An open forum followed where students raised questions regarding academic and administrative matters.</p>
