ASCOT Submit Five Programs for Accreditation

Upholding the vision of Aurora State College of Technology to be a center of excellence in instruction, research, extension and production in Asia, five of its program were submitted for accreditation in the recently concluded First and Second Survey Visit of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) which was held last September 18-21, 2017.

ASCOT welcomed the twenty-three accreditors coming from different state universities and colleges (SUCs) in an opening program which was held September 19, 2017 at the ASCOT Accreditation Room where the Accreditors, ASCOT Accreditation Task Force, and College Officials were formally introduced. The team of accreditors was led by Dr. Evelyn D. Taban who serves as the overall coordinator with Dr. Shiela Mae Carol A. Buslig, Coordinator and Team Leaders/ Program Accreditors, Dr. Elena A. Navas for the Bachelor in Elementary Education, Dr. Yolina T. Castaneto for Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Engr. Wilson R. Duldulao for Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Prof. Arnold I. Malag for Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Remely A. Sanidad for Bachelor of Science in Fisheries. The other lead accreditors include, Prof. Fe Erlinda D. Ibalio, Dr. Rosalinda G. Nones, Dr. Douglas Angel A. Aragon II, Engr. Reynaldo P. Ramos, Dr. Renylin M. Udaundo, Prof. Josephine L. Obispo, Prof. Renato B. Cubilla, Dr. Alberto M. Cabrera, Prof. Elmo C. Rapsing Jr., Dr. Julio Romeo T. Chavez, Prof. Elvis M. Estuesta, Prof. Jose Q. Cabatu, Dr. Paulino P. Reyes III, Dr. Jessie Grace M. Sannadan, Mrs. Ailene V. Joven, and Dr. Roque Ulep. In her opening message, ASCOT President, Dr. Doracie B. Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2017

Bilang paggunita at pagbibigay pugay sa Wikang Fililipino at sa mayaman nitong kultura, makulay na idinaos sa kolehiyo ang taunang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa na may tema para sa taong ito na, “Filipino Wikang Mapagbago”.Ito ay mahusay na inilahad ng panauhing tagapagsalita na si G. Albertine R. de Juan, Jr. Sa kanyang talumpati, ibinahagi niya ang kahalagahan ng wika sa ibat-ibang larangan na siyang magiging daan sa mga pagbabago tungo sa kaunlaran.

Kabahagi ang mga mag-aaral at kaguruan ng Kolehiyo sa ibat-ibang panayam at patimpalak na isinagawa noong Agosto 24-25, 2017 na siyang nagbigay kahulugan sa pagdiriwang ng buwan ng wikang Filipino. Kasama sa mga paksa sa ginawang panayam ay ang Kasaysayan at Kahalagahan ng Wikang Filipino na pinangunahan ni Bb. Glenda Nad, Ang Filipino sa DepEd Curriculum sa Ilalim ng K-12 Program ni Gng. Remedios V. Soliven, Ang Filipino sa Bagong General Education ng CHED at ang Gampanin ng Tanggol Wika hinggil dito ni Prof. Baby Jean VC. Jose at Hamon sa mga Guro at Mag-aaral tungo sa Intelektuwalisasyon ng Wikang Filipino bilang Gamit sa Pananaliksik ni Dr. Rowell Olila. ASCOT names new External affairs and Community Relations Coordinator

The college president appoints Ms. Melita M. Amatorio, known to many as Maam Mely, as the new External affairs and Community Relations Coordinator, effective since February 2017.

Duties and responsibilities attached to her new designation includes: planning, developing and establishing of programs on building linkages with the external institutions – both local and international, establishing linkages with alumni, and disseminating information on employment opportunities and school linkages.

One of the few programs that she initiates is the formulation of programmatic plan and action regarding disaster risk reduction management. Currently, she is creating a core that will compose the Disaster Risk Reduction Committee. This group will be responsible in formulating the plans of the college in the said matter. Her office will be under the direct supervision of the Office of the College President.

The hardworking lady has been serving the college as Administrative officer V since 20th of December 2004. Most of her career was spent as the Budget Officer III of the college dating back from June 1994 to Dec 19, 2004.

Maam Mely is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Accounting . A proud alumnus of Mount Carmel College – year 1987. She went on to further hone her skills through the ASCOT-NEUST Collaboration Program where she gained her degree master in management major in public management – year 1999

She was born on Aug 25, 1958 and raised in San Luis Aurora. Now a mother of four and currently residing at Brgy. Pingit Baler, Aurora together with her family.

Some of her training and seminar that qualify her to her current post are: Emergency Medial First Responders Course conducted by the Philippine Public Safety and Order Support, Training on Implementation of Government Accounting Manual (GAM), Community Disaster Risk Reduction Education Seminar (CDRRES), Seminar-workshop on the Harmonization of University/College Codes (Manuals of Operations) among SUS in Central Luzon, Workshop on the Preparation of SUC’s GAD plan and Budget, and Flagship Course on Administrative Serve Excellence conducted by the one the premier institutions in the country – Development Academy o the Philippines.

ASCOT Holds Agency In-House Review of On-going and Completed Research Projects 2017

In line with the mission of the College in developing and promoting interdisciplinary scientific, applied and development-oriented research that leads to technological inventions and people-oriented programs, the ASCOT Research, Extension and Development Office conducted its regular Annual Agency In-House Review of On-going and Completed Research Projects 2017 today, July 31, 2017 at the Accreditation Room, General Education Building, ASCOT Zabali Campus, Baler, Aurora.

This year’s In-house Review featured twenty-three (23) papers under the Thesis Category, Research Category, and Development and Extension Category which were reviewed and evaluated by the three experts: Engr. Dexter G. Reyes, ME, Municipal Fire Marshal, Dilasag Fires Station, Dr. Erleo T. Villaros, CID Chief, Schools Division of Aurora and Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Director and Full Professor in Mycology, CLSU who also served as the Chairman of the Board of Evaluators.
