Students from the BS Fisheries, Marine Biology, and BIT-EET programs at ASCOT Casiguran Campus launched the “Gulayan sa Paaralan” initiative. This project is part of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) 2-CWTS and aims to teach agricultural knowledge, promote healthy eating habits, and instill environmental responsibility among students.

The “Gulayan sa Paaralan” project provides hands-on learning where students gain practical gardening skills and learn about sustainable agriculture by growing nutritious vegetables on campus. This initiative addresses students’ nutritional needs while teaching organic farming, crop management, and sustainable practices. Students develop a sense of responsibility and a stronger connection to nature, gaining invaluable skills and knowledge. This equips them to lead healthier lives and advocate for sustainable development, fostering a self-reliant and environmentally conscious generation.

This initiative supports UN SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by enhancing agricultural skills and promoting sustainable practices, contributing to a food-secure and environmentally responsible future.
