ADMISSION AND RETENTION POLICY IN INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. First Year Students
    • Must pass the SUC III Admission/Entrance Test (Paper and Pencil Test)
    • Senior High School graduates of any track or specialization from accredited academic institutions will be admitted upon completion/submission of the general admission requirements set by the college/department.
    • If Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) qualifier, duly authenticated/verified copy of the Certification issued by the Department of Education (CMO no. 15,. 2003) must be submitted aside from completion/submission of the general admission requirements set by the college/department
    • If Alternative Learning System (ALS) A & E Test qualifier, Certificate of Test Result and Completion Certificate for Secondary Level must be submitted aside from completion/submission of the general admission requirements set by the college/department.
    • Must pass the interview conducted by the Director or by a committee created for such purpose.
  2. Transferee
    •   Must pass the SUC III Admission/Entrance Test (Paper and Pencil Test)
    •   Must pass the interview conducted by the Director or by a committee created for such purpose.
    •   Academic records from previous college/university must be evaluated for alignment of the subjects/courses offered by the department.
  3. Shifters

BRIDGING PROGRAM POLICY

Students who graduated from other STRANDS aside from TVL TRACKS in their Senior High School, including NON-SHS graduates are required to enroll the bridging subjects with National Certification in different competency.

Those who had taken other National Certifications will be recognized by the RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL). Advanced/experienced learner will enable them the multiple entry / exit system. The approached basis will be based upon the Zero Knowledge (ZK) and or Advanced/Experienced Learner (AEL).

Completion of the programs warrants compliance to the Washington, Sydney and Dublin Accords for Engineering Technician Qualification Standards and other industry qualification/ accreditation centers.

DEPARTMENT RETENTION POLICY

  • Not more than 50% failing grade in the regular subjects currently enrolled.
  • To qualify for a CERTIFICATE Degree Level, a student has to finish the one-year certificate requirements including the 240 hours in practicum and passing of the final actual and written examinations. Mandatory Graduation every end of Year Level.
  • To qualify for an ASSOCIATE Degree, a student has to finish the two – year associate requirements including the 240 hour in Practicum and passing of the final actual and written examinations. Mandatory Graduation every end of Year Level.
  • To qualify for the DIPLOMA Degree, a student has to finish the three – year program requirements including the 480-hour Practicum training and passing of the final actual and written examinations. Mandatory Graduation every end of Year Level.
  • To qualify for the BACHELOR IN INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY, Major in AET/CET/EET/FT Technology Degree, student must had finished all the academic subject requirements to include three (3) 240 hrs. Practicum and 480 hrs. of On the Job Training (OJT)
  • Mandatory National Certificated Examination or Competency Assessment at the end of every semester.
  • Mandatory Graduation for every year Level in compliance to Ladderized system.

COMMON POLICY ON FAILED COURSES

  • For re-enrolled failed course(s), students shall pay the required fee.

COMMON POLICY ON PETITIONED COURSES

  • A petitioned course(s) refers to off-semester course requested by students to qualify them to catch up with the normal load or to enable them to fulfill the requisites for graduation.
  • If the petitioned course is a repeat course, the student shall pay the required fee.

COURSE OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

  • No one will be discriminated on the basis of social status, religious beliefs, gender, disability, and ethnicity provided they qualify in the admission requirements.
  • To have high possibility of graduating in the program, the scholarship division will assist the marginalized sector student on availing student subsidy loan program to defray expenses for science projects, transportation, field trips, and other school requirements.
  • To give priority and reservation on the use of dormitories.
  • To provide review or refresher activities in coordination with different colleges/field of specialization in preparation for licensure examinations and TESDA national certifications.
