From July 3 to 5, 2024, the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) is hosting a Seminar-Writeshop on Publishing in High-Impact Journals, featuring esteemed scholars as keynote speakers. Led by the ASCOT Research and Development Services Office, this event aims to elevate the research capabilities of faculty members.

Distinguished scholars Dr. Maricar S. Prudente from De La Salle University, a recipient of the 2015 National Achievement Award, and Dr. Socorro E. Aguha from De La Salle Araneta University Malabon, specializing in Environmental Science and Agriculture, will lead sessions. Their expertise will guide ASCOT faculty through intensive workshops designed to produce high-impact journal publications. The resource speakers discussed the following topics: Essentials of Publishing, Conducting Systematic Reviews, and Preparing the Manuscript. The sessions included presentations, critiquing, and coaching.

Dr. Ma. Luz F. Cabatan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes delivered inspiring remarks during the opening program, emphasizing the workshop’s importance in academic development. Dr. Alking B. Gorospe, Director of the Research and Development Services Office, outlined the comprehensive training agenda, covering essential topics such as systematic reviews and manuscript preparation.

This initiative supports ASCOT’s commitment to global research standards and aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. Participants, including academic leaders and staff, aim to enhance their research outputs, contributing to both institutional growth and the broader scholarly community.
