May 16, 2024 – As ASCOT athletes prepare for the highly anticipated 2024 State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) event, Congressman Rommel Rico T. Angara reaffirmed his steadfast support for aspiring athletes by generously donating uniforms to students from ASCOT.

Congressman Angara, a former athlete himself, emphasized his dedication to the players, acknowledging the academic and athletic balance they strive to maintain. Encouraging them to pursue their passions alongside their studies, he stressed the importance of pride and presentation. “Ayoko na hindi maganda, presentable at kumpleto ang uniporme ng ating mga atleta sa ASCOT. Gusto ko kapag sinabing taga-Aurora, maganda at kumpleto. Kapag ganito, gaganahan ang ating mga manlalaro na manalo. Ang pakiusap ko lang sa inyo, whether win or lose, manalo o matalo, maging proud na taga-Aurora kayo,” he expressed.

Additionally, Congressman Angara pledged to match any prizes awarded by ASCOT to the winning athletes, ensuring their hard work and dedication are duly recognized and rewarded.

A total of 272 uniforms were distributed. The event was attended by notable individuals such as Dr. Alma Bayudan, Director of Student Affairs Services; Conrad Mendizabal, ASCOT Sports Development Director; Ms. Lian Angara; Atty. Nikki Nicolas; Atty. Patrick Alexis Angara; Atty. Aila Reopta; and Dr. Norma Palmero.

Congressman Angara’s support not only provides tangible assistance to ASCOT’s athletes but also serves as a source of motivation and encouragement as they prepare to represent their institution in the upcoming athletic competition in Tarlac.
