Last week, the Department of Science and Technology visited Aurora State College of Technology to award a check worth 1,998,448.00 PHP. This is for the extension of the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program in Casiguran, Aurora. The CEST program provides science and technology for sustainable livelihood in the rice and fishing processing community in Brgy. Bianoan and Brgy. Esteves in Casiguran.

The awarding of the check was at the ASCOT Accreditation Hall. The officials present for DOST are the following: Regional Director Jaycee Caesar Sicat and Provincial DOST Director Maricel Sicat. The officials from ASCOT are the following: College President Eutiquio L. Rotaquio Jr., Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs Evi Q. Fontanos, Ph.D., PIPDPO Director Sherwin B. Glorioso, Engr. Amarlo Banania, Ma’am Maribel Soriano, and Casiguran Campus Director and Project Leader Mancy Lota.

President Rotaquio stated that it is another opportunity to train the faculty in implementing research and extension projects. ASCOT will continue to collaborate with different offices to continue projects and help communities in the province. Health protocols were followed.
