July 28, 2024 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) School of Engineering (SoE) awarded certificates of completion to 160 students who participated in the Bridging Program starting June 10, 2024. This certificate is a key requirement for their upcoming qualifying interviews for the SoE Admission Process.
Dean Engr. Alking Gorospe, PhD, set the tone for the ceremony, stating, “Congratulations, malapit na kayong makapasok sa SoE dahil nakatapos na kayo ng Bridging program, which is one of the requirement.”
Engr. Oscar C. Barawid, PhD, Vice President for Administration, Planning, and Finance, and also a faculty member, inspired the students with his message: “Sa Aurora, may mga heads na graduates din ng ASCOT. Later-on, makakapagtrabaho din kayo sa community at makatulong kayo sa ating province.”
ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes challenged the students with thought-provoking questions: “How do you see yourself eight years from now? Ask yourself, Sino ba ako? Bilang anak? Estudyante ng ASCOT? Bilang Kaibigan? At bilang taga-Aurora na dapat magsilbi sa Aurora? Kayo ngayon ay nandito sa ASCOT dahil kayo ay nangarap. Ngunit dapat nating tandaan na upang matupad ang ating pangarap tayo ay dapat na gumawa ng paraan.” He also expressed gratitude to the Engineering faculty for making the Bridging Program possible, saying, “Maraming salamat po sa mga nagsakripisyo.”
Dr. Ricardo G. Gonzales, Director for Extension Services, encouraged the students: “Pinag-aralan ninyo ang mga bagong konsepto, tinulak ang hangganan, at lumitaw ng mas malakas upang mapaghandaan ninyo ang pagiging freshman sa ASCOT. Ang landas ng engineering ay hindi laging madali. Maraming hamon ang mararanasan, pero ito ang magiging daan para maging matagumpay.”
The Bridging Program provides Senior High School students with a solid foundation in engineering principles, preparing them for advanced studies and successful careers in engineering. This is also the third requirement for entry into their desired engineering courses, following good SHS academic standing, passing both the college and school entrance exams, and culminating in the qualifying interview.
